Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults over 18 years old who have been diagnosed with severe atopic dermatitis (eczema), based on a specific severity score above 40
- People whose eczema has been ongoing and stable for more than one year
- People who have previously tried light therapy or one or more immune-suppressing medications (such as cyclosporin A, methotrexate, azathioprine, mycophenolate, or oral steroids), and where that treatment either did not work well enough, caused unacceptable side effects, or could not be used for medical reasons
- People who are not pregnant and do not plan to become pregnant during the treatment period
- People who have signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have mild or moderate eczema, rather than severe eczema
- People whose severe eczema is being managed well with standard treatments, and who can tolerate those treatments without problems
- People who are pregnant, or who plan to become pregnant during or immediately after the treatment period
- People with a known allergy to any materials used in the immunoadsorption procedure (a blood-filtering treatment used in this trial)
- People with serious heart or blood vessel disease
- People who experience severe bleeding when taking blood-thinning medication
- People who are currently taking a type of blood pressure medication known as ACE inhibitors
- People under 18 years of age
- People who have an active cancer that is not currently in remission
- People who have not signed the informed consent form
