Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
- People who are between 21 and 70 years old
- People who are currently prescribed one of these medications: olanzapine, risperidone, clozapine, or haloperidol — or who are not currently taking any antipsychotic medication at all
- People whose weight has stayed roughly the same (within 5%) over the last 6 months
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant
- People who have a substance abuse problem
- People who have a significant hormonal or metabolic health condition, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure or severely elevated fat levels in the blood
- People who are unable to have an MRI scan, for example due to claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) or having metal implants or devices in the body
