Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 40 and 85 years old.
- French is your first language.
- You are being seen at the Amiens Memory Resource and Research Centre and have been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (early memory or thinking difficulties) or mild dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body disease, or a condition called frontotemporal lobar degeneration.
- You are covered by French social security.
- Healthy volunteers of a similar age and gender to patients may also be recruited from the general public.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have difficulties reading or writing due to a learning disorder or because you have never learned to read or write.
- You have a medical condition that could significantly affect your thinking or memory, such as an untreated thyroid problem, severe heart failure, serious breathing problems requiring oxygen, liver problems, kidney failure, an active or progressing cancer, or a past or current alcohol problem.
- You have a neurological condition other than the one that brought you to the memory clinic, such as a stroke, meningitis, a serious head injury, epilepsy requiring ongoing treatment, or significant problems with your senses or movement.
- You have a psychiatric condition other than depression that is being treated.
- You are currently taking certain medications that affect mood or mental state (confirm with trial site for the specific medications involved).
- It is not possible for you to complete memory and thinking tests or have a brain MRI scan.
- You are pregnant.
- You have a device or implant in your body that is not compatible with an MRI scanner, such as a nerve stimulator, cochlear implant, certain metal fragments near the eyes or brain, a brain shunt, or certain dental appliances.
- You are under legal guardianship or are currently incarcerated.
- You may withdraw from the study at any time if you wish.
