Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older who have previously been diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition where stomach acid regularly flows back into the food pipe), also known as GERD
- People aged 14 or older who have previously been diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis (a condition affecting the food pipe), also known as EoE
- People who have previously been diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus (a condition affecting the lining of the food pipe), also known as BE
- Healthy volunteers aged 18 to 84 years old with no such diagnoses
- People who are able to understand and agree to the terms of participating in the trial
- People who have not eaten solid food for at least 4 hours before the procedure, and have only had clear liquids in the 2 hours before the procedure
Who may not be able to join:
- People aged 85 or older
- People who have difficulty swallowing pills or capsules
- People who have a strong gag reflex
- People who have a hole or an abnormal connection in their food pipe, or a narrowing in the food pipe that is smaller than the size of the capsule used in the trial
- People who are pregnant (women of childbearing age may be asked whether they are pregnant, and if unsure, may be asked to take a pregnancy test before joining)
