Who might be able to join this trial:

• You must have a trusted person (such as a family member or close friend) who knows you well and can answer questions about how you are functioning day-to-day.
• You must be able to read, understand, and speak English, as the memory and thinking tests are conducted in English.
• You must have been diagnosed with one of the following conditions: a likely form of behavioral variant FTD, a scan-supported form of non-fluent variant PPA, a scan-supported form of semantic variant PPA (with a specific brain scan result), a likely form of Corticobasal Syndrome (CBS), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), or FTD with motor neuron disease (confirm with trial site for exact diagnosis details).
• If you are joining as a healthy volunteer (control subject), you must have a normal neurological check-up, score 0 on a standard memory assessment scale, and score 28 or higher on a common thinking and memory test called the MMSE.

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose symptoms, brain scans, or spinal fluid results suggest they may have Alzheimer's disease instead of the conditions listed above.
• People who have a history of a serious head injury, brain tumour, stroke, or other brain or mental health conditions that could explain their symptoms.
• Women who have not yet gone through menopause may be asked to take a pregnancy test before each scan, and pregnant women cannot take part because the PET scan could potentially be harmful to an unborn baby.
• People who have a pacemaker, aneurysm clips, artificial heart valves, ear implants, or any metal fragments or foreign objects in their eyes, skin, or body.
