Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have a skin lesion (such as spots, raised rashes, sores, bumps, or hives) that doctors believe is related to active vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels)
  • You have a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of one of the following conditions: Cryoglobulinemic vasculitis, Drug-induced vasculitis, Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), IgA vasculitis, Isolated cutaneous vasculitis, Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA), Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN), or Urticarial vasculitis
  • You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part (or, if you are a minor, a parent or guardian can sign on your behalf)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are younger than five years old
  • Your doctor does not think you are a safe candidate for a skin biopsy (a small tissue sample), or believes the risks of the biopsy outweigh the potential benefits for you
  • Your blood test results show low levels of certain blood cells — specifically, too few white blood cells, too few platelets, or too little hemoglobin (confirm with trial site)
  • You have another serious, uncontrolled illness that could stop you from completing the study procedures
  • You have an active infection at or near the area where the biopsy would be done, poor blood circulation in that area, or a physical feature such as a bony area that could increase your risk of complications
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are unable to give your own informed consent to take part in the study
