Who may not be able to join:

• People who have had a worsening of their condition in the past 4 weeks that required a change in medication, a visit to the emergency department, or a hospital stay.
• People who are unable to perform a standard breathing test called spirometry.
• People who have a medical reason they cannot safely undergo methacholine challenge testing (confirm with trial site for specific conditions this covers).
• People who have a significant smoking history of more than 10 pack-years (roughly, smoking one pack of cigarettes per day for more than 10 years, or the equivalent amount over a different time period).

Note: Having previously used inhaled or oral corticosteroid (steroid) medications does not prevent someone from being considered — the trial will record and review medication use as part of the study.
