Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- You are willing and able to sign a written consent form to participate
- You are having a major abdominal operation lasting 3 hours or more, such as major bowel or stomach surgery (for example, removal of part of the pancreas, stomach removal, bowel removal) or major gynaecological cancer surgery
Who may not be able to join:

- You are having major surgery on your blood vessels (such as arteries or veins)
- You are on dialysis or are having a kidney transplant operation
