Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults who have been diagnosed with an early-stage oesophageal condition (such as high-grade abnormal cells, cancer in place, or a very early-stage cancer that has not spread) and who were treated with a procedure called endoscopic submucosal dissection (a technique to remove abnormal tissue from the food pipe lining).
- People whose food pipe lining showed a specific pattern during a dye test (called Lugol staining), where more than 10 small patchy areas did not take up the dye, creating a "speckled" appearance.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who had an incomplete endoscopic (camera-based) treatment, or who experienced serious complications during or after their procedure, such as a perforation (a hole in the food pipe) or a stricture (narrowing of the food pipe).
- People who have previously had chemotherapy (cancer-fighting medication given through the whole body) or radiation therapy aimed at the oesophagus (food pipe), or who have had their oesophagus surgically removed.
- People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than 2 years.
- People with severe, advanced liver disease that is no longer responding well to treatment (confirm with trial site).
- People who have large swollen veins in the oesophagus (a condition related to liver disease).
- People in poor general health who are unable to carry out basic daily activities (confirm with trial site).
