Who might be able to join this trial:
This trial has several different groups (called cohorts). You may qualify for one of the following:
Group 1 – Advanced Pancreatic Cancer:
- You have been diagnosed with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer, confirmed by imaging, tissue sample, or cell sample
- You are planning to receive drug or other systemic treatment for your cancer
- Your red blood cell levels (hemoglobin) are above 8 (confirm with trial site)
- You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself (ECOG score 0–2; confirm with trial site)
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are willing to have a tumor biopsy performed
- You are willing to allow previously collected tumor tissue (from past biopsies or surgery) to be used for research
Group 2 – Operable Pancreatic Cancer:
- You have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, confirmed by imaging, tissue sample, or cell sample
- You are planned to have surgery to remove the tumor as the first treatment
- No chemotherapy or radiation is planned before your surgery
- Your red blood cell levels (hemoglobin) are above 8 (confirm with trial site)
- You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself (ECOG score 0–2; confirm with trial site)
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are willing to have a tumor biopsy performed
- You are willing to allow previously collected tumor tissue (from past biopsies or surgery) to be used for research
Group 3 – Acute Benign Pancreatic Condition:
- You have been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis or another sudden-onset, non-cancerous pancreatic condition
- Your red blood cell levels (hemoglobin) are above 8 (confirm with trial site)
- You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself (ECOG score 0–2; confirm with trial site)
- You are at least 18 years old
Group 4 – Chronic Benign Pancreatic Condition:
- You have been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis or another long-term, non-cancerous, non-cyst pancreatic condition
- Your red blood cell levels (hemoglobin) are above 8 (confirm with trial site)
- You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself (ECOG score 0–2; confirm with trial site)
- You are at least 18 years old
Group 5 – IPMN (a type of pancreatic cyst) Control:
- You have been diagnosed with IPMN (a specific type of pancreatic cyst) without high-risk features, as confirmed by your doctor
- You are at least 18 years old
Group 6 – Benign Pancreatic Cyst Control:
- You have been diagnosed with a non-cancerous pancreatic cyst
- You are at least 18 years old
Group 7 – Healthy Control:
- You are at least 18 years old
Who may not be able to join:
Groups 1 & 2 – Pancreatic Cancer Groups:
- You have received chemotherapy or radiation for pancreatic cancer in a localised setting within the past 3 months (Group 1 only)
- Chemotherapy or radiation before surgery is planned for you (Group 2 only)
- You currently have another active cancer, unless it is considered low-grade or low-risk (confirm with trial site)
- You have a medical or mental health condition that could make it difficult to follow the trial's procedures
Groups 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 – Control Groups:
- You currently have or have previously had cancer, except for certain types of non-melanoma skin cancer
- You have been found to carry a gene linked to higher cancer risk, or you have a strong family history suggesting a genetic tendency toward cancer
- You have a medical or mental health condition that could make it difficult to follow the trial's procedures
Group 5 – IPMN Control only:
- Your IPMN has high-risk features or you are already planned to have surgery to remove it
