Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You fall into one of these groups: (a) you have no pancreatic disease and no stomach pain, or you have been diagnosed with functional dyspepsia (a digestive condition causing ongoing discomfort); (b) you have suspected early-stage pancreatic inflammation shown on a scan, with stomach pain but no history of sudden pancreatic attacks; (c) you have had one or more episodes of sudden pancreatic inflammation and still have ongoing stomach pain, with normal or mildly abnormal scans; (d) you have a confirmed diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis (long-term inflammation of the pancreas) shown on a scan; or (e) you have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (a condition affecting the valve that controls digestive fluid flow)
  • If you are in the suspected or confirmed pancreatitis groups, your stomach pain must score above 3 out of 10 on a pain scale and have been occurring at least 3 days per week for at least 3 months
  • You are able to read and understand the study information
  • You are willing and able to attend scheduled visits, complete questionnaires, and follow study procedures
  • You have signed and dated a consent form showing you understand and agree to take part
  • Both people with and without diabetes are welcome to join

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have other significant medical or surgical conditions that the study doctor believes could affect the results (confirm with trial site)
  • You have other chronic pain conditions that make it difficult to tell apart from pancreatic or digestive pain
  • You are currently pregnant at the time of enrolling in the study
  • You have previously had surgery on your pancreas
