Who might be able to join this trial:

• The person must agree to take part and sign a consent form
• There must be a blockage in one of the major blood vessels supplying the brain, confirmed by a special scan (CTA or MRA), in specific locations in the front or back part of the brain's blood supply
• A brain scan must show a score of 6 or higher on a measure used to assess how much of the brain may still be saved (confirm with trial site)
• Scans must show that some brain tissue can still be rescued, either through a "mismatch" pattern or by showing that good backup blood flow pathways exist
• The procedure to treat the blockage must begin within 12 hours of symptoms first starting
• A specific medical device called the EmboTrap® II Revascularization Device must be used as the first or second treatment attempt to remove the blockage

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have not given their consent to take part
• People who have a blockage in a blood vessel outside the brain, or a combination of blockages in both the neck and brain vessels (called a tandem occlusion)
