Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People between 50 and 85 years of age (male or female)
  • People who have been diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's disease
  • People who, if already taking Alzheimer's medication, have been on that medication for at least 2 months, with the same dose for at least 3 months
  • People who are able to describe what they are feeling during the treatment procedure
  • People who are able to walk independently

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with certain findings on an MRI brain scan
  • People who have any unknown or MRI-unsafe devices anywhere in their body (such as certain implants or metalwork)
  • People with serious heart disease or unstable heart and circulation problems
  • People with known sensitivities or medical reasons to avoid the contrast dye or imaging tracer used in the study
  • People with a history of a bleeding disorder
  • People with a history of liver disease
  • People with known disease affecting the blood vessels in the brain or body
  • People with significant depression or who may be at risk of suicide
  • People with any medical reason that prevents them from having an MRI scan
  • People with any medical reason that prevents a lumbar puncture (a procedure to collect fluid from around the spine)
  • People with untreated or uncontrolled sleep apnea
  • People with a history of seizures or epilepsy
  • People with severely reduced kidney function
  • People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial or research study
  • People with chronic (ongoing) lung conditions
  • People who have tested positive for HIV
  • People who carry two copies of a specific gene variant called ApoE4 (confirm with trial site)
