Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have a condition called sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, which affects the muscle that controls bile and digestive fluid flow
- You have had a previous reaction called pancreatitis after a procedure called ERCP, or have had certain related procedures done on your pancreas in the past
- During your ERCP procedure, the doctor had difficulty accessing the bile duct and needed more than 5 attempts
- A special technique called the "double wire technique" was used during your ERCP procedure to access the bile duct
- You meet at least 2 of the following: you are a woman under 50 years old; dye was injected into the pancreas in a certain way during the procedure; your bilirubin (a substance in your blood) was normal before the procedure; a guidewire reached deep into the pancreas during the procedure; or dye was seen in a specific part of the pancreas (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are planned to have a small tube (stent) placed in your pancreas, such as for a narrowing of the pancreatic duct or removal of a growth
- You or your next of kin have not given written agreement to take part in the trial
- You are under 18 years old
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- Your digestive system anatomy has been significantly changed by previous surgery (except certain types of stomach surgery called Billroth I or II)
- You cannot take anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs) — for example, because you have active stomach or gut bleeding, or your kidneys are not working well enough
- You have a known allergy to anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs)
- You have a condition where your heart is struggling to pump blood properly (heart failure)
