Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old
  • You have had a single stroke on one side of the brain, confirmed by an MRI or CT scan, that happened more than 6 months ago
  • Your stroke has affected your ability to move your eyes or head, and caused some arm or leg weakness, as measured by a standard stroke assessment scale (confirm with trial site)
  • You are able to walk at your own pace without physical help from another person
  • Your resting heart rate is between 40 and 100 beats per minute
  • Your resting blood pressure falls within the range of 90/60 to 185/100

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your MRI or CT scan shows that the stroke affected the cerebellum (the lower back part of the brain that helps with balance and coordination)
  • You have any other neurological condition in addition to your stroke
  • You were already unable to walk outside your home before your stroke occurred
  • You have had heart bypass surgery or a heart attack within the last 3 months
  • You have pain in your muscles or joints that makes walking difficult
  • You are unable to communicate with the research team
  • You have a partial loss of vision in part of your visual field
  • You have difficulty paying attention to one side of your body or surroundings (confirm with trial site)
  • You have had unexplained dizziness at any point in the last 6 months
