Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who have previously had breast cancer or a condition called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), which is a non-invasive form of breast cancer.
- People who have cancer in both breasts at the same time.
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the chest area.
- People who have had a previous non-breast cancer (not including certain low-risk or non-invasive types) within the past 5 years.
- People whose health conditions mean they would not be able to safely undergo breast reconstruction surgery, radiation therapy, or the required follow-up visits.
- People who are unable to participate due to language barriers or other personal circumstances.
- People with a life expectancy of less than 10 years.
