Who might be able to join this trial:

• The cancer has come back in or near the area where it was originally treated (called a locoregional recurrence) after major surgery to remove it
• The surgeon was unable to remove all of the cancer during surgery (known as a positive resection margin, or R1/R2 result)
• The cancer has come back in an area that was not covered by previous radiation treatment given after surgery
• The cancer has come back after chemotherapy that was given following surgery
• No treatment has been received for the cancer since it came back
• People aged between 16 and 70 years old
• People who are generally able to carry out most daily activities (a performance score above 70 on the Karnofsky scale — confirm with trial site if unsure what this means)
• No history of allergic reactions to medications
• The liver and kidneys are working well enough (confirm with trial site for specific thresholds)
• A white blood cell count above 4.0 × 10⁹/L, which is a measure of immune system health

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are older than 70 or younger than 16 years of age
• People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• People who have a history of allergic reactions to medications
• People who do not wish to give their informed consent to participate
• People whose liver or kidney function is not at a sufficient level, or whose blood count results are abnormal
• People with serious heart or blood vessel conditions, active infections, active stomach or intestinal ulcers, diabetes with poorly controlled blood sugar levels, or mental health disorders
