Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are already enrolled in the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center (UAB-ADC) study through a separately approved research program.
  • People who are already enrolled in the UAB-ADC amyloid brain scan (amyloid-PET) sub-study through a separately approved research program. The amyloid brain scan does not need to be finished before joining this study.
  • Women who could potentially be pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test (urine or blood) within 2 days of receiving the study scan injection. Women who have not had a period for at least 1 year, or who have had a documented surgical procedure to prevent pregnancy, do not need a pregnancy test.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who do not meet the eligibility requirements of the UAB-ADC study.
  • People for whom MRI or PET brain scans are not safe or not possible for any reason.
  • People whose dementia is at a stage of severity that would prevent them from being able to participate in the brain scanning procedures.
