Who might be able to join this trial:
- Healthy volunteers between the ages of 20 and 80, recruited from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals staff members
- People between the ages of 20 and 80 who have suspected or known heart disease (across one of five patient groups)
- People who are able to provide written consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose heart failure is so severe that it requires treatment through an intravenous (IV) drip, as this may prevent them from completing the study procedures
- People in the suspected coronary artery disease or heart attack groups of the study who have a past history of heart attack, acute coronary syndrome, or a condition affecting the heart muscle (confirm with trial site)
- People who have significant disease affecting the valves of the heart
- People who have a heart rhythm condition called atrial fibrillation
- People who are unable to have an MRI scan, based on the standard safety screening questions used before clinical MRI procedures
