Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are female
- You are between 19 and 45 years old
- You have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa according to standard psychiatric guidelines (DSM-5)
- Your body weight is below 85% of what is considered ideal for your height
- Your menstrual periods have stopped (amenorrhea)
- A bone density scan has shown your bones are thinner than normal (a T-score below -1.0 at the spine or hip)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a condition known to affect bone health, such as untreated thyroid problems, vitamin D deficiency, Cushing's syndrome, diabetes, or reduced kidney function
- You have a personal history of blood clots in your veins or arteries
- You have had a stroke or heart attack
- You have a condition that causes your blood to clot too easily
- You or a close blood relative (parent, sibling, or child) has had breast cancer
- You have a history of a condition called hereditary angioedema (a disorder causing episodes of swelling)
- You are currently taking, or have recently taken, certain medications that affect bone health — including steroids, certain contraceptive injections, or bone-strengthening drugs called bisphosphonates (confirm with trial site for exact timeframes)
- You have had a bone fracture in the past 12 months
- Recent blood tests show certain abnormal results, including low potassium, abnormal liver enzyme levels, or low red blood cell levels (confirm with trial site)
- Your fasting blood fat (triglyceride) level is above a certain level
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or hoping to become pregnant in the next 18 months
- You are currently misusing alcohol or drugs
- Your blood test shows an abnormally high level of a hormone called PTH (parathyroid hormone)
- Your vitamin D level is too low (below 20 ng/mL on a blood test)
- Your blood phosphorus level is too low
