For patients:

  • Children or teenagers aged between 6 and 18 years old
  • Both boys and girls are eligible

For patients:

  • You have received steroid medication (taken throughout the body, not just locally) for more than 1 week during the 30 days before the test
  • You have a medical reason that means you cannot safely do physical activity or exercise
  • You currently have an active infection

For healthy volunteers (controls):

  • You have a medical reason that means you cannot safely do physical activity or exercise
  • You have a long-term health condition that could affect muscle mass, muscle function, metabolism, or body composition
  • You are taking any medication that could affect your metabolism
  • You currently have an active infection
