Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with allergic asthma (at a mild to moderate level, known as GINA step 1–4) that has been stable — meaning no changes in asthma control or lung function — for at least the past three months
- People who have been taking prescribed asthma medication for at least one year
- People aged between 18 and 70 years old
- People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 20 and 35 kg/m²
- People willing to avoid products containing plant sterols or stanols (such as Becel ProActiv, Benecol, Danacol, or similar store-brand cholesterol-lowering products) for one month before the study and throughout the study
- People willing to keep their intake of fish oil supplements the same throughout the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People who currently smoke, or who stopped smoking within the past year, or who have a smoking history of more than 10 pack-years (confirm with trial site for exact calculation)
- People who have an allergy to any ingredient in the study's soft chew product
- People who have an ongoing inflammatory disease (for heart or cardiovascular conditions, the event must have occurred at least 3 years ago and be currently under control)
- People whose fasting blood sugar level is above 7.0 mmol/L
- People whose fasting total cholesterol level is above 8.0 mmol/L
- People who have donated blood within one month before the study starts, or who plan to donate blood during the study
- People who are pregnant
- People who are breastfeeding
