Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be able to give written consent and be willing and able to follow all of the study's requirements.
- You must be male or female and at least 19 years old when you sign the consent form.
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of osteoarthritis in a major joint, shown by an X-ray or MRI taken within the past year, with a severity rating of Grade 1, 2, or 3 on a standard scale called the Kellgren & Lawrence scale.
Who may not be able to join:
- You may not be eligible if your Body Mass Index (BMI) is above 35.
- You may not be eligible if you have had arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery on the joint being treated within the last 12 months.
- You may not be eligible if you have had a cortisone or hyaluronic acid (joint fluid) injection in the affected joint within the last 3 months.
- You may not be eligible if you are unable to temporarily stop blood-thinning medication before the procedure, as directed by your doctor.
- You may not be eligible if your osteoarthritis is rated as Grade 4 (the most severe level) on the Kellgren & Lawrence scale.
- You may not be eligible if your platelet count (cells that help blood clot) is below a certain level.
- You may not be eligible if your hemoglobin level (a measure of red blood cells) is below a certain level.
- You may not be eligible if you currently have an active infection with a fever or an elevated white blood cell count.
- You may not be eligible if you currently have an active cancer diagnosis.
- You may not be eligible if you have an autoimmune condition, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.
- You may not be eligible if you are currently pregnant; if you become pregnant during the study, you would be withdrawn from treatment and imaging but could still participate in symptom check-ins.
- You may not be eligible if you have a known allergy to lidocaine, heparin, or epinephrine.
