For stroke patients:

  • Adults between 18 and 80 years old who have had a stroke more than 3 months ago

For healthy volunteers (no stroke history):

  • Adults between 18 and 80 years old

For stroke patients:

  • People who have a reason they cannot safely have an MRI scan (such as certain metal implants or devices in the body)
  • People who have a neurological condition affecting their body that was not caused by a stroke
  • People with a BMI over 40
  • People who are pregnant
  • People who experience severe anxiety or distress in enclosed spaces (claustrophobia)

  • People who have physical impairments caused by a stroke
