Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women aged 18 or older
- People having coronary artery bypass grafting (a type of heart surgery to improve blood flow) as the only procedure being performed
- People having this type of heart surgery for the first time
- People with significant blockage or disease in specific major heart arteries (the left main coronary artery, or the left anterior descending and circumflex arteries, with or without disease in the right coronary artery)
Who may not be able to join:
- Men
- People who would only need a single bypass graft
- People requiring emergency surgery
- People who had a heart attack within 72 hours before the planned surgery
- People whose heart pumping function is significantly reduced (below 35%) (confirm with trial site)
- People needing any additional heart or non-heart procedures at the same time
- People who have had previous heart surgery
- People with serious kidney failure requiring dialysis, liver failure, respiratory failure, cancer, or any other condition that is likely to reduce life expectancy to less than 5 years
- People for whom the saphenous vein (a leg vein) cannot be used, or for whom both the radial artery (wrist) and right internal thoracic artery (chest) cannot be used as grafts
- People expected to need a specific artery-clearing technique called coronary thrombo-endarterectomy during surgery
- People whose treatment plan includes a combined surgical and non-surgical approach to restoring heart blood flow (known as hybrid revascularisation)

Primary endpoints
Primary outcome for aim 1: Death from any cause, any stroke, non-procedural myocardial infarction, repeat revascularization and hospital readmission for acute coronary syndrome or heart failure.; Primary outcome for aim 2: Disease-specific quality of life
