  • You are currently taking antibiotics, probiotics, traditional Chinese herbal medicines, or other long-term medications that could affect the trial results
  • You have serious conditions outside the gut related to Crohn's disease, such as certain skin conditions, eye conditions, or blood clotting disorders
  • You have serious bowel complications such as a fistula, abscess, narrowing or blockage of the bowel, bleeding, or a hole in the bowel
  • You have had abdominal or bowel surgery in the past 6 months, or you have short bowel syndrome
  • You have a skin condition or wound in the areas of the body where acupuncture would be performed
