Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are an African-American woman between 18 and 60 years old
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of hair loss called CCCA (Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia), confirmed by a skin biopsy, with a severity level between 1 and 4 on a standard scale
- You are able to be seen and treated at the Wake Forest Baptist Health Dermatology Outpatient Clinic
Who may not be able to join:
- You have other types of hair loss in addition to CCCA
- You have other inflammatory scalp conditions (having mild dandruff-related scalp condition may still be acceptable — confirm with trial site)
- You have used any creams, lotions, or other products applied directly to the scalp for CCCA in the past 4 months (such as steroid creams, minoxidil, or other hair regrowth products)
- You have taken long-term antibiotic tablets or capsules for hair loss within the past year
- You have had more than two sessions of steroid injections directly into the scalp in the past year
