  • People who are scheduled for a planned (non-urgent) first-time total hip or total knee replacement surgery
  • People who are aged between 55 and 95 years old
  • People whose blood test results show signs of malnutrition, meaning at least one of the following: a serum albumin level of 3.5 mg/dl or below, a pre-albumin level below 15 mg/dl, or a transferrin level below 200 mg/dl

  • People with a past history of a joint infection (septic arthritis) in the affected joint
  • People who have a known allergy to oral nutritional supplements
  • People who are unable to take or swallow oral nutritional supplements
