People who have been diagnosed with a stroke and are either currently admitted to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab or had a stroke in the past and are living in the community.
Healthy individuals with no known significant health problems may also be able to join as a comparison group.

People who have a degenerative neurological condition in addition to their stroke, such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, or Parkinson's disease.

People who have skin allergies, skin irritation, or open wounds.
People who have an implanted, powered heart device such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, or heart pump (LVAD).
Healthy volunteers who have a history of stroke or any degenerative neurological condition (such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, or Parkinson's disease) would not be eligible for the healthy control group.
