Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have already been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or indeterminate colitis
- People who are currently receiving treatment with either Infliximab or Vedolizumab every 4 to 8 weeks
- People between the ages of 5 and 25 years old at the time of joining the study
- People whose recent blood test (taken in the last 4 to 8 weeks) showed a vitamin D level below 40 ng/mL, with no changes to their vitamin D supplements during that time
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of any kidney disease
- People with a history of pre-existing liver disease
- People with a history of granulomatous disease (a type of inflammatory condition — confirm with trial site if unsure)
- People who are unable to swallow an oral vitamin D3 pill
- People with a history of abnormally high calcium levels in their blood or urine
- People who are currently taking, or have taken within the past 3 months, an anti-epileptic (anti-seizure) medication or the water tablet Lasix (furosemide)
