Who might be able to join this trial:
For the young patient:
- Children and young people aged 7 to 20 years old, whose psychotic disorder first started between the ages of 7 and 17
- Currently receiving hospital or outpatient care for a psychotic episode, whether recent or ongoing
- Has been diagnosed with one of the following conditions: schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, brief psychotic disorder, psychotic disorder not otherwise specified, or major depression with psychotic features
- A parent or legal guardian has signed a consent form, and the young patient has also signed one if their condition allows
- If the patient is an adult (18 or older), they have signed a consent form themselves after their condition has stabilised
- Covered by French Social Security health insurance (AME coverage does not meet this requirement)
For parents or siblings wishing to take part in the genetic part of the study:
- Parents are welcome to participate with no specific additional criteria
- Siblings may be eligible to participate if there are at least two close (first-degree) family members with a psychotic disorder in the family, including the patient
- Any participating parents or siblings have signed a consent form for the genetic part of the study
- Covered by French Social Security health insurance (AME coverage does not meet this requirement)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with moderate or severe intellectual disability (an IQ below 50)
- People whose psychosis is considered to be caused by a medical condition, medication, or substance use
- People diagnosed with bipolar disorder
- Patients who are under legal guardianship
- For the brain imaging (MRI) part of the study only: people with any medical reason that makes MRI scanning unsafe for them (confirm with trial site)
