Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have had a bleeding stroke (hemorrhagic stroke) confirmed by a CT or MRI scan
  • People who have been in a reduced state of consciousness for more than 4 weeks since their stroke occurred
  • People who are in a vegetative state or a minimally conscious state, as measured by a standard assessment tool called the Coma Recovery Scale-Revised (CRS-R)

  • People who are regularly taking medications that may affect consciousness, such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, memory-related drugs, or blood vessel-widening drugs
  • People with a history of serious illness in the past two years, including cancer, blood disorders, kidney or liver disease, heart disease, psychiatric illness, diabetes, heart attack, or epilepsy (confirm with trial site regarding specific details)
  • People with a history of alcohol or drug abuse or dependence within the past two years, as defined by standard diagnostic criteria
  • People with an ongoing or unstable medical condition that may make it difficult to follow the study's requirements
  • People for whom a medication that cannot be used alongside the study drug is medically necessary
  • People who have a known contraindication (medical reason to avoid) the study drug, cerebrolysin
  • People who are currently participating in another clinical treatment study
