Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have a significant blockage or narrowing in the artery running down your thigh to behind your knee, classified as a complex type (TASC-C or TASC-D), and it has not been treated before
  • The blockage starts in the main thigh artery and does not extend past a certain point behind the knee (confirm with trial site)
  • At least one blood vessel in your lower leg is open and carrying blood flow all the way to the foot
  • You have leg artery disease causing symptoms ranging from mild leg cramping when walking to minor tissue damage or wounds on the foot (Rutherford stages 2 to 5)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently under a legal protection arrangement, such as guardianship or court-appointed supervision
  • None of the blood vessels in your lower leg are open or functioning
  • You are experiencing a sudden, severe loss of blood flow to the limb that started less than 14 days ago
  • There are no signs that a wound or tissue damage on your limb would be likely to heal
  • You have previously had a stent (a small tube) placed in the thigh-to-knee artery
  • You have previously had bypass surgery on the thigh-to-knee artery
  • You have a narrowing of 30% or more in the arteries of your pelvis or upper thigh area that has not been treated
  • The blockage extends past a certain point behind the knee (confirm with trial site)
