Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are in early neurological rehabilitation (sometimes called "phase B" rehabilitation)
- People who have had a stroke, a traumatic brain injury, or a brain injury caused by lack of oxygen
- People who have a disorder of consciousness, such as being in a coma, an unresponsive wakefulness state, or a minimally conscious state
- People who are at least two weeks past when their brain injury or illness began
- People who were admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU)
- People whose legal representative (such as a family member or guardian) has provided written consent to participate
- People for whom pregnancy has been ruled out
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose heart or breathing is not stable enough

- People with mental health conditions such as dementia or depression
- People who are carrying bacteria that are resistant to multiple antibiotics
- People for whom an MRI scan is not safe (for example, those with certain metal implants)
- People who experience claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces)
- People who weigh more than 120 kg
