AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have developed an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation after the PFO closure

  • People who have had another stroke or mini-stroke within the year after their PFO closure procedure
  • People who are unable or unwilling to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
  • People for whom having an MRI scan is medically not safe under any circumstances (for example, those with certain types of metal implants)
