Who might be able to join this trial:
- Participants must be at least 76 years old
- You must have been diagnosed with a specific type of esophageal cancer (squamous cell carcinoma), confirmed by a tissue test (pathology)

- People who have previously had radiotherapy or chemotherapy for esophageal cancer
- People who have had surgery within 28 days before the trial start date
- People who have had another type of cancer in the past, unless it was a common type of skin cancer or early-stage cervical cancer and they have been cancer-free for at least 3 years
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial or have done so within the last 30 days
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone who is able to have children and is not using contraception
- People with a history of drug addiction or alcoholism
- People living with AIDS
- People with uncontrolled seizures or serious psychiatric (mental health) conditions
