Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are over 21 years old.
- A dermatologist (skin doctor) has diagnosed you with plaque-type psoriasis specifically.
- Your psoriasis is considered moderate to severe, based on specific scores measured by a doctor (covering how widespread and serious your skin condition is, affecting at least 10% of your body surface).
- You are considered a suitable candidate for light therapy (phototherapy) and/or treatment taken by mouth or injection (systemic therapy).
- You are currently using, or have used, mild to moderately strong steroid creams or ointments on your skin.
- You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a type of psoriasis other than plaque-type (for example, guttate or pustular psoriasis).
- You have another skin condition at the time of your screening appointment (such as eczema) that could affect how results are measured.
- You have active tuberculosis, active infections such as Hepatitis B or C, cancer, or you are currently taking medications that suppress your immune system (for conditions like HIV/AIDS, rheumatoid arthritis, or following an organ transplant).
- You have previously had light therapy (phototherapy) or taken any systemic (whole-body) medications that suppress the immune system, such as methotrexate.
- You have a serious, worsening, or uncontrolled condition affecting your kidneys, heart, blood vessels, lungs, digestive system, hormones, nerves, blood, joints, mental health, or metabolism.
- You have a current or past history of cancer (except certain treated skin cancers) within the last 5 years.
- You have a history of inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have psoriatic arthritis (a type of arthritis linked to psoriasis), as this trial uses a different treatment approach for that condition.
