Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with a solid tumour or lymphoma (confirmed by a tissue or biopsy test), whether newly diagnosed, returned, or recurring, and where the cancer has not spread into the bone marrow.
• People whose doctor has determined they are suitable to receive chemotherapy that is known to carry at least a 20% risk of causing a serious infection with fever due to low white blood cell counts, based on established cancer treatment guidelines.
• People whose blood counts, kidney function, and liver function are at an adequate level.
• People receiving a heart-affecting (cardiotoxic) chemotherapy who have had a heart function scan within 14 days of screening showing their heart is pumping at greater than 50% efficiency.
• People who have had a spinal fluid test (lumbar puncture) within 14 days of starting the study, if their doctor considers it medically necessary to check whether the cancer has spread to the brain or spinal cord.
• People who have a performance (functional ability) score of at least 50% — measured on the Karnofsky scale for those aged 16 and older, or the Lansky scale for children under 16.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have an infection that cannot be controlled, or another serious or underlying medical condition that could interfere with receiving the study treatment.
• People who have recently received certain white blood cell-boosting medicines (filgrastim within the past 7 days, pegfilgrastim within the past 14 days, or similar investigational G-CSF products within the past 2 weeks).
• People who need to receive radiation therapy at the same time as the first cycle of study treatment.
• People who have previously had a bone marrow or stem cell transplant, or whose cancer currently involves the bone marrow — including those with leukaemia.
• People who have received radiation to the spine within the 30 days before joining the study.
• People who have used any experimental drugs, biological treatments, or investigational medical devices within the 30 days before starting the study, or who plan to use any during the study.
• People who have a known allergy or previous reaction to any G-CSF white blood cell-boosting medicines.
• People who currently have active cancer disease affecting the brain or spinal cord (central nervous system).
• People who have not yet sufficiently recovered from side effects of previous treatments (side effects must have reduced to a mild level or lower before joining).
