Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of advanced ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer (stage IIIC or IV, high-grade type), or a similar related cancer type (confirm with trial site)
- Your doctor believes you are healthy enough to have surgery after completing 3 to 4 cycles of chemotherapy containing platinum, and scans show no cancer visible outside the abdomen
- Your CA-125 blood marker levels (a cancer-related protein) have returned to a normal range after chemotherapy, OR your level is 500 or below and you are scheduled for a pre-surgery camera inspection of the abdomen to check if surgery is possible
- Your surgery is planned to take place within 6 weeks of finishing your last chemotherapy cycle
- You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself, with only minor limitations in daily activity (confirm with trial site what this means for your situation)
- You are able to give signed consent and can attend follow-up appointments
- You have a negative pregnancy test taken within 14 days before surgery
- You have not had any other active cancer in the past five years, except certain common skin cancers (basal or squamous cell)
Who may not be able to join:
- Your pre-surgery scans (CT, PET-CT, or MRI) show signs that the cancer cannot be safely removed using minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery, such as cancer affecting the small bowel, stomach, colon, rectum, diaphragm, spleen, liver, or certain other abdominal areas, or if fluid in the abdomen did not improve during chemotherapy
- You have personal, family, psychological, or location-related circumstances that may make it hard to follow the study plan and attend follow-up visits
- You are unable to safely tolerate being positioned with your head tilted downward for a period of time, or cannot tolerate the gas used to inflate the abdomen during keyhole surgery, as decided by your medical team
- You have any other medical reason that makes keyhole surgery unsuitable for you, as assessed by your doctor
