  • People who have a stage II or III wrist condition known as scapholunate advanced collapse (SLAC) or scaphoid nonunion advanced collapse (SNAC), and whose doctor has determined they are suitable for the surgical procedures included in this trial

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been diagnosed with other types of wrist arthritis that are not SLAC or SNAC
  • People who have significant arthritis in the hand or finger joints on the same side, a major joint injury, previous major wrist surgery, an infection, or a condition affecting the nerves or muscles of that arm or hand — including anything that affects the ability to make a fist
  • People who have a physical or mental health condition that would prevent them from completing consent forms or questionnaires
  • People who do not speak, read, or understand English
  • People who do not have a fixed address or a way to be contacted
  • People who are unwilling to attend the required follow-up appointments
  • People whose surgeon decides, at the time of surgery, that the surgical techniques used in this trial are not appropriate based on the nature of the injury or other wrist conditions found during the procedure
