Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have agreed to take part by signing a consent form
• You are 19 years old or older
• Your cancer can be measured or tracked using medical scans
• You are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for yourself (your doctor will assess this)
• Your major organs (such as liver, kidneys, and heart) are working well enough, as confirmed by tests
• You are expected to live for at least 3 months
• You are able to swallow and keep down tablets or capsules
• You have HER2-positive cancer and have already tried trastuzumab (a standard treatment) but it did not work
• You are willing and able to use reliable contraception if there is any chance of pregnancy (this applies to both men and women)
• Your heart is pumping blood effectively, with a pumping strength of at least 50% (confirmed by a heart scan)

Who may not be able to join:

• You are a woman who could become pregnant and have a positive pregnancy test within 72 hours before joining the trial
• You have received any cancer treatment (including experimental treatments) within the last 2 weeks
• You have had radiotherapy within the last 2 weeks
• You have received a live vaccine (such as certain flu or travel vaccines) within the last 30 days
• You have taken part in another clinical trial or used an experimental drug or device, including trastuzumab used experimentally, within the last 4 weeks
• You have a condition that weakens your immune system, or you are taking high-dose steroid medicines or other immune-suppressing drugs
• You have another type of cancer that is still active or has needed treatment within the last 5 years
• You have cancer that has spread to your brain or the lining of your brain that is currently active
• You have had a severe allergic reaction to pembrolizumab, a PARP inhibitor, or paclitaxel (medicines used in this trial)
• You have an autoimmune disease (where your immune system attacks your own body) that needed medical treatment in the last 2 years
• You have had lung inflammation in the past that needed steroid treatment, or you currently have lung inflammation
• You have an active infection that requires treatment with medicines given throughout your body (such as antibiotics given by injection or tablet)
• You have a known history of HIV
• You have active Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C infection
• You are currently being treated for active tuberculosis (TB)
• You have previously received a bone marrow transplant, organ transplant, or umbilical cord blood transplant from another person
