Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who are between 6 weeks and 6 months after a stroke, with remaining weakness on one side of the body that includes foot-drop (difficulty lifting the front part of the foot)
- People who are more than 6 months after a stroke, with remaining weakness on one side of the body that includes foot-drop
- People whose stroke-related walking difficulties are clearly visible during a clinical observation
Who may not be able to join:
- People with certain heart conditions, including unstable chest pain, a heart attack within the last 3 months, a specific level of heart failure, or significant problems with heart valves
- People with high blood pressure above 160/100 on two separate checks, at a level that would make standard physical therapy unsafe
- People who were hospitalised for a serious illness within the last 3 months
- People with a condition that causes reduced blood flow in the arteries of the legs and causes symptoms
- People with bone, joint, or ongoing pain conditions that significantly affect the way they walk
- People with lung or kidney failure
- People with active cancer
- People with a nerve or muscle condition unrelated to their stroke that limits their ability to walk
- People with communication difficulties or thinking/memory problems that would prevent them from following a two-step instruction during the trial (confirm with trial site)
