Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and also have mild memory problems (a condition called mild cognitive impairment)
- People who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease but do not have memory problems
- Healthy volunteers with no Parkinson's Disease diagnosis
- All participants must be able to safely have an MRI scan
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with dementia
- People for whom having an MRI scan is medically unsafe or not recommended
- People who have bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or a history of alcohol or substance misuse
- People who have major depression
- People who have had thoughts of suicide
- People who may have difficulty following the requirements of the study
- People who have a significant brain or nervous system condition other than Parkinson's Disease
- People who have vascular dementia (a type of dementia caused by reduced blood flow to the brain)
- People who have a known sensitivity or allergic reaction to a medication called levetiracetam
- People who are currently taking anti-seizure (anticonvulsant) medications
- People who are currently taking other medications that are excluded by the trial (confirm with trial site for the specific list)
- People who have severely reduced kidney function
- People who have significantly abnormal vitamin B12 levels or thyroid function test results, outside the normal range for older adults
- Women who are of childbearing age and could potentially become pregnant
