  • You have been admitted to hospital with a diagnosis of acute pancreatitis caused by alcohol use
  • You smoke every day and have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in your lifetime, with at least 1 year of smoking history
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You are willing to sign a written consent form to take part in the study
  • You are willing to take part in check-ins every three months during the trial

  • You have a serious untreated or severe mental health condition, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or dementia
  • You are currently enrolled in a smoking cessation (quit smoking) programme
  • You are currently receiving treatment for cancer, whether to cure it or to manage symptoms
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Your life expectancy is less than two years
  • You do not agree or are unwilling to take part in the study
  • There may be other reasons that make participation unsuitable (confirm with trial site)
