Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women aged 50 years or older
- People who have had breast-conserving surgery (surgery that removes the tumour but keeps most of the breast)
- People whose tumour measured less than 3 cm under the microscope (invasive part only)
- People diagnosed with a type of breast cancer called invasive adenocarcinoma (not the classic form of invasive lobular carcinoma)
- People whose cancer was found in only one spot in the breast (not spread to multiple areas)
- People whose cancer is graded as Grade 1 or Grade 2 (lower-grade tumours that tend to grow more slowly)
- People who are generally well and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirmed by a standard health scale called ECOG 0–1)

- People whose underarm (axillary) lymph nodes tested negative for cancer

- People whose cancer has not spread to other parts of the body through the bloodstream
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had a previous cancer diagnosis, other than certain common skin cancers (non-melanoma skin cancer)
- People who have had a full breast removal (mastectomy) rather than breast-conserving surgery
- People diagnosed with the classic type of invasive lobular carcinoma
- People who received chemotherapy before their surgery (neoadjuvant chemotherapy)
- People whose breast cancer tests positive for a protein called HER2 (HER2+)
- People diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer
- People whose cancer involves lymph vessels in a way classified as intravascular lymphoma
- People who have a medical reason that would make radiotherapy unsafe for them (confirm with trial site)
- People who would have difficulty attending follow-up appointments due to where they live, their personal circumstances, or their mental health
