Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus (food pipe) or the junction between the esophagus and stomach (certain types, known as Siewert I or II), confirmed by a tissue test.
- Your heart and lung health are strong enough to safely undergo surgery.
- Your cancer is able to be surgically removed, and the treatment planned is intended to manage the disease rather than cure it.
Who may not be able to join:

- Your cancer has already spread to distant parts of the body (known as M1 stage, based on the current cancer staging system).
- Your heart or lung health is not strong enough to safely undergo surgery.
- After surgery, a significant amount of cancer was left behind that could be seen by the surgeon (confirm with trial site).
