Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have had at least two sudden, severe episodes of pancreas inflammation (pancreatitis) in the last 2 years
- Your most recent episode of pancreatitis had no known cause (was "idiopathic")
- You are older than 14 years of age
Who may not be able to join:
- You are already receiving regular dietary or nutritional guidance recommended by a doctor
- You are in a critical or very serious medical condition, or have a terminal cancer diagnosis with a life expectancy of less than 2 years
- You are currently receiving treatment for an active cancer
- You have diabetes that is not well controlled — this includes if you have not been following your diabetes treatment, have certain blood sugar test results above a set level, or have been newly diagnosed with diabetes (confirm with trial site)
- You have gallstones in your gallbladder
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI — a measure of body weight relative to height) is below 18.5, which is considered underweight
- You regularly take steroid medications (such as prednisone or cortisone) by mouth or injection
- You drink more alcohol than the following amounts: for men, more than 5 drinks in a day or 15 drinks in a week; for women, more than 4 drinks in a day or 8 drinks in a week
