Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are over 18 years old
  • People who have been prescribed omalizumab (OMA) by a lung specialist (pulmonologist) for severe allergic asthma for at least 33 months
  • People whose asthma is well controlled on their current treatment, shown by a score of 18 or higher on the Asthma Control Test (ACT), and who have had no more than one asthma flare-up in the year before joining the trial (a flare-up means needing steroid tablets or injections for at least 2 days, or doubling the usual steroid dose for at least 2 days)

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are not willing to stop omalizumab treatment for any reason

  • People whose treating doctor has concerns about whether they reliably take their asthma medications as directed
