Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a woman aged 18 or older who has been diagnosed with Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) at Stage II or III, confirmed by a skin biopsy.
  • You have been on a stable treatment plan for at least 3 months without any changes — this may include doxycycline (an antibiotic), topical steroids, minoxidil, and/or have completed at least 8 rounds of steroid injections into the scalp.
  • You are a patient seen at the outpatient dermatology clinics at Wake Forest Baptist Health Department of Dermatology.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a type of hair loss that is not CCCA.
  • You have previously been treated with any light-based therapy for hair loss.
  • You are male, as this condition is extremely rare in men and finding eligible male participants in a clinical setting is not currently feasible.
