Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are receiving chemotherapy that is known to cause hair loss (such as drugs like cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, paclitaxel, docetaxel, or similar medications)
- You have been diagnosed with a non-cancerous condition (such as Sickle Cell Disease or Aplastic Anemia) OR a solid tumor cancer that is not a brain tumor
- You are at least 7 years old
- Your head measures 50 cm (about 19.7 inches) around or larger
Who may not be able to join:
- You are receiving chemotherapy to treat a blood cancer (such as leukemia or lymphoma)
- You have a tumor in the brain or on the scalp, cancer that has spread to the brain or scalp, or a high risk of cancer spreading there — including conditions like neuroblastoma, melanoma, or other skin cancers, or if you have had or are planned to have radiation to the head
- The trial doctor or your medical team feels the trial is not appropriate for you for any reason
- You have previously had a bad reaction to the Paxman scalp cooling cap or device
- You have a condition where your blood or skin reacts badly to cold temperatures (confirm with trial site)
- You or your legal guardian are unable or unwilling to sign a consent form to participate
- You currently have an active infection or infestation on your scalp at the time of joining the study
